How We Do It
The Sinai-Boston (SB) Model of the U.S. Economy, some 750 equations in size, is central to DE research and its position as one of the most respected and relied upon independent macroeconomic fundamentals and strategy research providers.
Representing nearly thirty years of research by Dr. Allen Sinai and his colleagues, the SB model encompasses the structural determination of economic activity, interest rates, stock market and exchange rates, along with macroeconometric models and quantitative systems on numerous countries around the world.
In acknowledgement of its cutting-edge applications, the SB Model of the U.S. Economy has been called upon by the last four U.S. Administrations to assist in exploring and testing fiscal and monetary policy scenarios.
DE features proprietary top-down sales and earnings models for S&P500 Sectors and Industries tied to the SB Model of the U.S. Economy, Baseline, and Alternative Scenarios. Projections of industry earnings, sales, and financial positions, along with the monitoring of industry and country conditions, are used for equity portfolio management, sector and industry portfolio allocations, and credit analyses.
